Angus Bull Mogeely Junior Sells in Private Deal

After a phenomenal show season with Mogeely Junior M207, Co Cork, Eire-based Albert and Jennifer De Cogan are pleased to announce the private sale of this young bull for an undisclosed five figure sum to Donald Biggar for his Chapelton herd, Castle Douglas, Kircudbrightshire.

Junior is a September 2012-born son of the 7000gns Wedderlie Blackbox J935, a bull that has bred well in Ireland. His dam is Duncanziemere Jody F223, a Newcairnie Pester Z006 daughter, who has bred consistently well in the Mogeely herd.

Commenting on the sale Albert De Cogan said: “I am very pleased to sell him back to Scotland where his sire and dam were bred and I wish Donald Biggar and family all the best with him.”

Throughout the show season Junior has won two breed championships, reserve junior champion at the All-Ireland Championships at Enniskillen Show as well as reserve male and reserve overall at Tullamore Show. Most recently he won the National Irish Calf Show under judge Wanda Hobbs from Wedderlie herd, she described him as a very correct young bull with great legs and feet and oozing breed character.

He is maternal brother to Mogeely Joe H979, a Young Dale Touch Down son that is at the Dovea AI Stud in Ireland.

Donald Biggar first saw Junior whilst over judging at Limerick Show and added “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to purchase him and he will no doubt make an excellent addition to the Chapelton herd”.
