Placing Their Trust in the Future

Three Harper Adams University students have been given the great opportunity of placements within H&H Land and Property as part of their degrees studying BSc in Rural Enterprise and Land Management.

Millie Etheridge, Sarah Kidd and Jonathan Hird, all 20 years old, were very keen and began their placement year in July of this year. Recognised for their excellent graduate prospects, H&H will host the students at their Carlisle office, where, all three will apply their skills to gain a practical working knowledge and understanding of the industry.

Millie Etheridge, from Irthington is delighted by the news of her appointment at H&H, allowing her to further her interest in the rural economy. Millie has a keen interest in showing horses and eventing, and is also a member of Brampton YFC.

Having been brought up on a farm, Sarah Kidd is well versed in the practicalities of farming life, actively helping out with the workload on the family’s beef and sheep farm. Outside of farm life, Sarah is a keen sportswoman who enjoys playing hockey and running, in addition to being a member of Skelton YFC.

Jonathan also from a farming family is involved with helping out on his father’s beef and sheep farm. Jonathan is an active member of Caldbeck YFC, where he holds the positon of Vice Chairman and Assistant Treasurer.

Peter Hull, Commercial Director for H&H Land and Property said: “Offering students the opportunity to learn and develop in the field is an important part of the philosophy of H&H. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have attracted, very able, and talented students this year. We will offer Millie, Sarah and Jonathan every encouragement, providing them with the knowledge and skills they will need to support them through their placement year, which I am sure they will enjoy immensely.”

This philosophy is reflected in the long term goals of H&H, who are looking to the future of the company and its development in years to come.
