Brampton and Drigg YFCs travelled to Bury to represent the Northern Area in the National Semi-Finals of the Drama Competition.
They had qualified by winning rounds at District, County and Northern Area with their dramas. Brampton gave a heart felt rendition of Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo and Drigg’s play “A taste of your own medicine “ tackled the difficult issue of bullying with some spirited performances. Also competing on the day were Buxton YFC.

After a tense adjudication Brampton were placed first, one point ahead of Buxton and Drigg were third.
Makayla Brass, of Drigg, was presented with the award for best actress and Sam Slack from Buxton received the best actor award.

Brampton will now compete at the National Final at the Opera House, Blackpool on Saturday 4th May against Builth Wells YFC from Brecknock and Nesscliffe YFC from Shropshire.
