Standen Exhibits at British Potato 2013

On stand OS4, Standen will show its latest Potato Systems range, highlighting the wide range of soil separating models available from the Ely based company. 2013 has been a record sales year for Standen, both in the UK and overseas, where export sales have seen a marked increase.

As the company goes from strength to strength, many 2014 pre-orders have already been received, and Standen is now looking to British Potato 2013 at Harrogate as a springboard for future successes.

Standen offer growers the widest range of soil separators available anywhere; these having been developed in the UK specifically to meet to diverse requirements of potato and vegetable growers working on so many different conditions and soil types. There’s now a new elevator option for removing stones from the field. Here’s a summary of the models available:

  • Megastar Gen-2; a compact soil separator with star separation

  • Unistar 1500, 1600, 1700 and 2400; The high capacity separator featuring large diameter stars running over the top of an UNDERweb secondary separation web

  • Uniweb 1500, 1600, 1700 and 2400; A pure web (4-webs) separating machine with a huge throughput capacity

Other Standen Potato Systems machines on the stand will include:

  • Standen Powavator 150-70, front mounted rotary tiller for effective chemical incorporation

  • Standen Powavator 400 Series, powerful Bed Forming rotary tiller for three beds

  • NEW Baselier FF, front mounted compact rotary hook tine cultivator

  • Standen SP 244, QUAD planter with moving floor seed hopper

  • Standen T2, the gentle harvester with the most capacity, featuring exceptionally effective double OMEGA fluted roller separation

  • Baselier ID Series, market leading potato topper; unbeatable in the field

The Baselier FF front mounted compact was demonstrated by Standen in the UK during the spring of 2013. The machine impressed growers with its effectiveness and low power requirement. No doubt the FF will be a hot topic of discussion as growers look to reduce costs with one pass cultivations.

With more than 90 employees, Standen Engineering Ltd manufactures a wide range of potato bed formers, rotary tillers, planters, de-stoners, toppers and harvester at its factory in the city of Ely, Cambridgeshire, under the Standen-Pearson brand.
