In-Livestock Offers Insurance for Pedigree Stock
The H&H Group, best known for its Harrison & Hetherington livestock auctioneering, is launching a new division and brand to develop its pedigree livestock insurance cover.
in-Livestock will operate as part of H&H Insurance Brokers, which has a long established business offering farm insurance products across the whole of the UK. This new venture will initially specialise in offering bespoke insurance for pedigree cattle and sheep sold through the auction and farm-to-farm.

The North of England based H&H Group employs dedicated staff, all of whom have considerable expertise with livestock insurance. The in-Livestock team will operate this new division, headed up by Business Development Manager Carol Rickerby. They will also deal with any claims and support the administration.
H&H Group have been providing livestock insurance during their sales for many years. So, in-Livestock’s expertise and understanding of the insurance industry and livestock industry is second to none.
Here Brian Richardson, their Chief Executive gives further background to this new division within the company:
“Livestock Insurance has become a very specialist area requiring dedicated staff, backed up by first rate underwriters. We have spent considerable time putting together both the products on offer, along with a team of staff who will provide advice to livestock producers.”
“H&H Group has a heritage in livestock auctioneering and we are building on this by providing all pedigree and commercial breeders of cattle and sheep with first class, exceptional value cover, both at our own auctions and sales across the country. This is a major investment in the sector and to give it the focus it deserves, it is being launched with its own brand entitled in-Livestock.”
in-Livestock provides full mortality cover – death by accident, illness or disease – and a guarantee which covers the conditions of sale in event of the animal not fulfilling.
Another part of their specialist offering is a full range of disease covers for both cattle and sheep. This is vital, for the livestock owner worried about the importance and the growth in the number and extent of diseases in livestock at the moment.
Giving further background, in-Livestock Business Development Manager Carol Rickerby said:
“In launching this new division, as well as providing first class cover at economical premiums, one of our key aims is to reduce the time from the claim being notified to the claim being settled. As we have limited claims authority this should result in much faster claims settlements for our farmers and breeders.”
The in-Livestock brand is being launched using commissioned livestock images provided by Northumbrian artist Kate Simpson. These images are aimed at underpinning the focus of the offering to all livestock producers, plus providing a very clear identity in the market.
In considering the future of this new division Brian added: “As well as looking after existing business we see opportunities to develop the market for livestock insurance with breeders, not presently insuring, by highlighting the benefits of insuring their animals at sale.”
