Fendt Variotronic - The Leading Edge Through Integration
AGCO/Fendt has expanded its Variotronic concept with new, innovative functions. For example, it is now possible to exchange VarioGuide field settings with other vehicles in the fleet and the Variotronic IM (Implement Management) system enables implements to control the tractor via ISOBUS.
The whole Variotronic operating concept is an essential building block of the AGCO corporate strategy Fuse, with which AGCO aims to connect new technologies, its core brands and the dealer network closer together.
Variotronic IM: excellent teamwork between the tractor and implement
With the easy-to-use Variotronic, AGCO/Fendt has succeeded in meeting customer demands for high functionality, comprehensive setting options and logical operation. The concept is continually being expanded with new, innovative functions.
In Variotronic IM, implements can control the tractor. The implement is connected to the tractor via ISOBUS and demands defined functions from the tractor, for example, when working with a round baler, a hydraulic valve or the travel speed. As soon as the round bale is finished, the baler “informs” the tractor that it should reduce and maintain the travel speed, so that the wrapping procedure can begin. In this way, all round bales can be produced with the same density and quality. A further advantage is that it takes the burden off of operators so they can concentrate solely on optimising the process and the work results. For safety reasons, every function must be explicitly approved by the operator, who also has the option of manually overriding all automated functions at any time. AGCO/Fendt is collaborating with various agricultural equipment manufacturers within the framework of the Variotronic IM system.
VarioGuide: easy data transfer
With the VarioGuide automated steering system, which works in conjunction with
the latest satellite technology, users can work more relaxed, even at night
and under poor visibility conditions, and can concentrate fully on their implement.
Until now, users had to drive over the area with each tractor to record the
field data, such as the track or the obstacles. Now it is possible to transfer
the field settings from one tractor to another machine or to a computer using
a USB stick. That saves time, labour costs and fuel.
VarioDoc: now even more precise
Documentation is the most important basis for farm management for farming
enterprises. With VarioDoc, which is integrated in the Varioterminal,
these data can be easily recorded and documented.
Until now, however, the speed data recorded during heavy-duty tillage work was often not accurate, if there was no radar sensor. Now the speed signals can be determined via satellite with the aid of VarioDoc and VarioGuide and can be used to calculate slip. The result is more exact ground speed data. This in turn makes the VarioDoc recordings more accurate.
FUSE: Connectivity and integration of the entire fleet
The Fendt Variotronic is a crucial component of Fuse, a comprehensive
electronics strategy from AGCO, which offers farmers and contractors
seamless integration and networking of their entire fleet. AGCO not
only provides solutions for precision farming that reduce operating
costs and lead to more efficiency during machine operations under
the name Fuse, but also offers solutions for minimum tillage operations
or to reduce waste of water and pollutant emissions. And also for
agricultural enterprises, whose fleet comprises agricultural machinery
from several AGCO brands.
