C & D Farmers Mart Announce New Man at the Helm
Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc (C & D) has announced the appointment of Trevor Hebdon as the company’s new managing director following an in-depth review of the business.
Commenting upon Mr. Hebdon’s appointment David Lawton, C & D’s Chairman said “On behalf of the board I am delighted to confirm Trevor’s new role for the company – as the former chief executive of the H & H Group (based in Carlisle), his experience and knowledge will bring about the change which we are looking for as the company seeks to deliver a more sustainable business”.

Mr. Hebdon, who will continue to fulfil a number of non-executive positions within Cumbria, added: “C & D has a great tradition of marketing livestock, I am determined to ensure an early return to profitability whilst putting the company’s farming customers at the very heart of everything which we do”.
C & D operates livestock auction marts at Longtown and Dumfries, together with a property services division. Over recent years the company has experienced challenging trading conditions whilst, at the same time, it has seen increased livestock numbers through its sales rings.
