There are consignors from 17 different counties in England, Scotland & Wales. The bulls are bred from dams with outstanding production, super butterfat and protein, impressive lifetime yields and excellent functional type.
Commenting
on the standard of entries in advance of the sale Glyn
Lucas, Dairy Auctioneer
for Harrison & Hetherington, said:
“The sale catalogue is packed with dams
with outstanding productive lives and incredible lifetime yields. A number
of the bulls selling have been tested on genomics all with impressive indexes.
Herd health is key to the success of all dairy operations, all the bulls selling
have been tested free of BVD and vaccinated and are from herds with excellent
herd health records.”
There are a number of factors that have recently created increased optimism
in the dairy sector and on giving further details Glynn said:
“We are
absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to sell bulls of this standard
and variety. There are bulls suitable for all markets, so commercial
milk producers, breeders, spring milk producers, and farmers who have
heifer rearing units, will find something to suit their own specific
needs.”
Recent sales at Borderway have attracted buyers from across the UK and
Ireland and with such tremendous entries in this sale, it is expected
that there will once again be considerable interest from all areas.
