‘Gold Star’ Award for NMR

National Milk Records (NMR) has been awarded a top global award for the quality of its milk production recording, data processing and milk analysis services.

Awarded by the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR) to NMR’s operations manager Tony Craven, the ICAR Certificate of Quality recognises NMR’s ability and track record of adhering to the highest standards of milk recording and testing and data processing.

“This award, that runs for three years and is one that NMR has been awarded consistently since its inception in 2008, takes account of the services offered by the company from the milk recording practices on farm through to the accuracy and timeliness of reporting the information back to farmers and the industry,” says Tony Craven.

While NMR is confident that ICAR auditors, who spend several days on its sites, find all procedures meet the highest criteria, it values the award as recognition of its commitment to providing a leading recording and testing service for the UK dairy industry.

“Our producer, vet and milk processor customers can be confident in the services we provide, knowing that this quality award is made for best practise across the whole operation from IT infrastructures and recording options to accreditation and instrument calibration in our laboratories. And it goes beyond service provision to the whole NMR business policy on investment in and adoption of new equipment and the company’s commitment to staff training, internal trial work and data scrutiny.”
