Owned by brothers Austin and David Perry, the Killane Herd received Master Breeder Status in 2008, and currently comprises of 29 EX, 25 VG and 1 GP cows, as well as 14 GP (2yr) heifers.

The Killane prefix is synonymous with deep pedigreed cow families that breed consistently well generation after generation. Its yields are achieved on a simple commercial system, with cows grazed continuously throughout the summer months, receiving concentrates twice daily in the parlour.

Cow families at Killane include: Pretty Pat, Dellia, Tina (Jeffrey-Way), Finesse, Tui-Onyx, Saber Pansy, and not forgetting the legendary Roberta family – backed by 14 generations of VG and EX dams, and ten generations of star brood cows.

Auctioneer Micheal Taaffe said: ”This is a sale not to be missed. The Killane prefix is recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s leading herds. It won best small herd in the premier section of Holstein NI’s herds inspection competition in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
