Amazone Groundcare use BTME to Launch SmartCut

No matter whether it is in regard to either regular or occasional mowing, the Groundkeeper performs, even under the most demanding of maintenance situations; picking up cuttings every time with its customary efficiency.

Available in 1.35m to 2.1m cutting widths, this versatility makes it a reliable helper all year round. In spring, it can be used to scarify and mow grass on sports fields and golf courses without going over it more than once. In summer, the Groundkeeper will take on the intensive and extensive maintenance of all types of green areas, whereas in the autumn, it will pick up leaves, however high they are piled up. The Groundkeeper’s exceptional performance, coupled with its rugged reliability, has made it the ideal assistant to professional turf care specialists for more than 25 years.

New look and new performance for the Groundkeeper SmartCut range

New look and new performance for the Groundkeeper SmartCut range

The Profihopper has everything that the Groundkeeper has to offer with the added flexibility of being self-propelled - and zero-turn to boot. Powered by a 24.5 hp, three-cylinder diesel, the 1.25m out-front flail deck takes on all that the Groundkeeper can do; yet the unique auger collection system brings the cuttings off the flail and up into the collection hopper neatly compressing the contents as it goes, this means that the 730 litre hopper is crammed full with nearly 1000 litres of loose material.

Now Amazone Groundcare has gone one step further with the introduction of the new SmartCut rotor. Fitted to both the Groundkeeper and the Profihopper, the outstanding feature of the SmartCut exact cut rotor is the special V-formation blade arrangement which leads to both reduced fuel consumption and lower noise levels.

The benefits of the SmartCut rotor, with its V-shaped knife arrangement are obvious in comparison with the existing rotor, where the cutting knives are arranged linearly in rows. Because the knives, when arranged in this V-shape, do not pass the shear bar simultaneously but in very quick succession, one after the other, they convey the cut material better in the direction of the rotor centre, resulting in less lateral air turbulence and, because of this, in an additional improvement in the collecting performance.

Also the noise level is reduced by 5dB, clearly reducing the sound pressure level at the driver’s ear. The rate at which the rotor is cleared of material means that the cutting process can be speeded up without any loss in cutting quality and this means higher work rates – a win-win situation all round!

Due to the high suction effect provided by the SmartCut rotor, the Profihopper and the Groundkeeper can also be used for collecting already mown grass, leaves, debris, acorns, chestnuts etc.The well-known tool-less blade hanging arrangement is maintained and an increased choice of blades are now available with the H88 blades being added to the range so whether it is fine cut turf mowing on lawns, scarifying, extensive maintenance of wild flower meadows or heather rejuvenation as well as leaf and litter collection there is a blade in the line-up for all applications.

The SmartCut system will take centre stage on the stand at Harrogate and so, as we approach the start of BTME week, make sure you come and give us a look and see what SmartCut can do for your business. You will find Amazone Groundcare on Stand A17 in the corner between Hall A and Hall B.
