IOG Saltex is Back at Windsor Racecourse for 2013

IOG Saltex is upon us once more and Amazone Groundcare would like to extend a warm welcome to visit them on Stand A60 during the three days of the Show.

As you are probably aware, Amazone Groundcare are the specialists in green space management and a visit to the stand will give you a chance to see what the kit can do for your business.

The new zDrive will sit centre stage on Amazone's stand A60 at Saltex 2013

Flail collectors

The Groundkeeper range of flail collectors offer the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to managing grassed areas:

Rough grass maintenance – the big diameter Exact cutting rotor, with its four banks of blades interspersed with two banks of air paddles chops the grass into small lengths which prevents any wrapping around the rotor. This means the Groundkeeper can be used to knock down waist-high grass without stoppages. The combination of these small chop lengths and the large capacity hoppers takes care of collecting the cuttings for disposal later into a trailer or skip without constant running to and fro to empty.

Fine turf areas – the blade overlap of 74%, coupled with the sharpened wing blades turning at nearly 3,500 rpm, means that a fine finish to large lawn areas is no problem, and all this with a nice striped finish from the rear height roller to boot.

Bulb clearance – the same principle applies as for maintaining long grass areas because the Groundkeeper is the perfect tool for clearing spring bulb tops in the early summer after they have had a chance to recuperate before tidying them up.

Leaf collection – be it leaves in the autumn, hedge cuttings in the summer or litter collection after a concert, collecting is the Groundkeeper’s forte and it takes all this in its stride. Even on hard surfaces, the draught created by the blades and paddles will lift up and collect those fallen leaves.

And if its self-propelled you are after then no problem either as, on show will be the new zero-turn Profihopper zDrive and its impressive big brother, the Profihopper 4WDi. Both feature the new 1.25m PowerCompactor cutting deck that will cut, collect and feed into the hopper whatever the weather – wet or dry – due to the over-dimensioned mechanically-driven augers. Both the Profihopper and the Groundkeeper can be set to cut and drop if desired.

Scarifying – a tool-less changeover from mowing to scarifying only takes a couple of minutes so that, in early spring or late summer, dethatching can be carried out with the moss and dead grass being simultaneously whisked away into the hopper. Also after lawn aeration, both the Groundkeeper and the Profihopper can be used to pick up cores ready for composting and applying back as top-dressing where required.

On the Stand, Amazone Groundcare will feature both the EK-S and the E+S top dressers. Designed to cope with copious amounts of difficult to spread soil/sand mixes, the steep hopper wall angle and extra agitation are ideal for keeping everything on the move. And when the snow is on the ground they can also turn their hand to salt spreading or in the spring to mineral fertiliser application. On show will be the E+S 750 with AMADOSE+S that offers forward speed related electronic spread rate control as well as the ability to change the rate and the working width on-the-move from the cab.

Landscape combinations form a key part of the Amazone Groundcare range

Sward rejuvenation

The PTO-driven landscape combinations are ideal for grass rejuvenation, irrespective of the conditions. The modular build means that the cultivation element can be mixed and matched to suit the job in hand. For over-seeding, the laidback scratcher tines tickle the surface teasing out the thatch and moss and laying the grass seed into the slight tilth created on the soil surface with the screen roller pressing the seed lightly into the top soil. For a more aggressive cultivation, the over-seeder bars can be replaced with a rigid bar which fully works the top couple of inches providing a firm, fine tilth to sow into. A rotary harrow or stone burier can also be utilised if wished. Working width vary from 0.9 m up to 2.5 m depending on the application.
