Come and see Amazone at the Royal Welsh Show 2013

The Royal Welsh offers the perfect environment to catch up with a few old friends, check out the livestock on show, but above all it gives you a chance to see what is new on the Amazone stand.

The mix of arable and mixed farming represented at the Welsh gives Amazone the opportunity to display a full range of kit from the ZA-X Perfect twin disc spreader, capable of working up to 18m width and carrying two 600 kg bags with plenty left in. This 1400 litre hydraulically actuated spreader is the ideal solution for mixed farmers wanting to do both grass pastures and some corn. For the more technologically-inspired end users there is the new ZA-M Special Profis 2000. The Profis weigh-cell system enables the driver to just enter in the rate per hectare and drive off, the calibration is then sorted out for them irrespective of speed and flowability.

Amazone drills will be on show at the Royal Welsh 2013

Amazone drills will be on show at the Royal Welsh 2013

New on the stand will be the Catros+ 3001 with the GreenDrill seeder system and front mounted Advantage loosening legs. Based on 0.5m spacing, the low draught legs loosen the seedbed down to 25cm before the Catros 510mm serrated discs chop and mix the surface trash into the top soil. The wedge ring roller targets the consolidation to the row and the GreenDrill seeder then places the seed in amongst the soil coming off the discs for grass re-seeding or behind the roller in 6 rows to match the leg spacing with rape seeding.

For crop protection, the best-selling mounted sprayer on the market will also be on the Stand, the UF1201 is fitted with a 24m boom yet folds neatly behind the tank to under 2.4m on the road for good cab access and minimal space requirement when off the tractor. The AMASPRAY+ in-cab controller offers speed-related application rates and VRA compatibility via the RS232 port. Triple nozzle bodies with DUS boom purge and recirculation finish off the package for the machine on show. For the bigger user the UX3200 Super trailed machine will also be on the stand. The steering axle combines stability as well as accuracy on the headlands preventing crop damage whilst turning. The stability comes from the use of a steering axle rather than a steering drawbar to keep both wheels firmly on the deck when on sidling ground. The twin pump set-up on the UX Super means bags of agitation is available even when high output spraying. Automatic height control of the boom and GPS section control complete the set-up here.

Turfcare kit on display as well

On the Groundcare side Amazone will also take the opportunity to show off their wares: the professional grass care market is an important part of the line-up and on the stand will be latest Profihopper 4WDi self-propelled mower-collector. The 4WDi has an intuitive steering system that only provides drive to the rear wheels when either requiring more traction or when steering to decrease the machine down to only a 0-turning circle around the front wheels. This keeps the fuel consumption down to a minimum yet means the 4WDi can get to places other mowers only aspire to. The 730 litre hi-tip collecting hopper takes around 1,000 litres of uncompressed cuttings and packs them together through the auger collection system to ensure the maximum distance between emptying.

The PowerCompactor system has a 50% faster collection capacity that the previous model and so longer material or higher speeds can be achieved without losing that Profihopper clean collecting ability. The horizontal exact-cut rotor with its 72 sharpened wing blades provides a near cylinder mower cut finish, and a striped effect to boot as well. The standard blade configuration can be added to with an additional scarifying knife so that green areas can be renovated by removing the thatch and opening up the sward to improve drainage and nutrient uptake. The scarifying system can be also used for leaf collection in the autumn as well as year-round litter collection. The changeover is completely tool-less and only takes a couple of minutes to change.

The tractor-mounted version - the Groundkeeper - will also be on display as well as a range of top dresser/winter salt spreaders from 150 litres right up to 1,000 litres capacity.

Lookings at drills?

The power harrow / drill combination market still forms the mainstay of drilling in Britain and so it makes sense to show the latest 3m pneumatic drill, the AD-P Special, mounted to a KG rotary cultivator; a unit where the drill can be used to either work in a min-till scenario or after the plough. The 1,000 litre hopper can easily accommodate half tonne bags of wheat or barley for easy fill-up and the drill can be dismounted for using the power harrow in a solo operation. The RoTeC Control 25 coulters can cope with copious amounts of surface trash and yet offer unique depth control via a combination of the height adjustable polyurethane depth limiting discs and the hydraulic coulter pressure.

With so much to offer visitors to the Show this year then please take the opportunity to come and see us on Stand G450 where a warm welcome awaits.
