Amazone Intelligent Crop Production Conference

On May 29th at our Active Centre at Harworth in South Yorkshire we are opening the doors to share with you some of that expertise. We have alongside us on the day, four specialists in their field to help you in your quest for improving the way that you farm.

When it comes to crop establishment there is no doubt that Amazone are the experts in the field but that expertise has not been earned lightly. With more than 800 ha of field trials based in countries across the world, Amazone actively pursue the quest to produce, not only the right bit of kit for a region but also the right system for that area.

Intelligent Crop Production Conference

No matter whether it is the arid regions in East Asia and Africa or the higher rainfall areas of Western Europe, there is an implement chain available that slots machinery together to make the most of any farming operation. We call it ‘Intelligent Crop Production’.

Farming is a thinking man’s game where we fight to maintain yields but establish crops with a minimum of cost so that we secure a decent margin against the vagaries of weather and pests and diseases.

This high-tech Amazone equipment not only encompasses spreading and spraying, but also soil tillage and seedbed preparation through to drilling. Amazone really are the harvest to harvest specialists and to gain this experience we work closely with science and practice to glean that knowledge which provides those agronomical advantages that give farmers the edge.

On May 29th at our Active Centre at Harworth in South Yorkshire we are opening the doors to share with you some of that expertise. We have alongside us on the day, four specialists in their field to help you in your quest for improving the way that you farm:

Firstly we have Dr. Hans-Heinrich Voßhenrich, senior agronomist at Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute at Braunschweig, who will be sharing with us his experience in blackgrass control.

The second paper will be presented by David Robinson of Frontier Agriculture Ltd. David is Head of Crop Dynamics and brings with him a wealth of experience in trials work and crop walking. Amazone are a trials partner to Frontier Agriculture Ltd.

Also on the platform will be Dr. Sven Dutzi of Amazonen-Werke, Sven earned his doctorate in looking at the pros and cons of straw management and he will give us an insight into what the future holds in the establishment of cereal crops.

Last, but not least, will be a subject close to our hearts at Amazone as well as by most farming operations nowadays. Clive Blacker of Precision Decisions Ltd is one of the leading experts in the world of precision farming and Clive will give an insight into how we can harness this technology which will play such a major part in achieving our quest for those proposed 20 t/ha wheat yields.

The event will also include a chance to view Amazone’s local establishment trials site which this year is in Winter Barley. This site is in its fourth season of trials and offers a glimpse into how cultivation and drilling techniques can affect both your pocket and your yield. This site is just one of a number of locations across Britain where we are involved in trials work.

And to round off the event there will also be a chance to see the full sprayer range in operation in the field as well as getting a sneak preview of some exciting new products that won’t be seen in public until Cereals 2013.
