ScotGrass 2013 returns to SRUC Crichton Royal, Dumfries

The AEA is pleased to announce that this year’s ScotGrass event, to be held on Tuesday 14th May 2013, will return to Acrehead Farm, at the SRUC Dairy Research Unit, Crichton Royal, Dumfries and is to be sponsored by both the Ecosyl and Topwrap brands from Volac, our Forage Quality partner.

AEA director general, Roger Lane-Nott, said: “After the huge success of the 2010 event we were keen to make a quick return to Crichton Royal and are delighted that SRUC and farms manager Hugh McClymont have agreed to host ScotGrass 2013. In addition to its excellent facilities for working demonstrations, the venue is ideally placed for farmers and contractors from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.”

Event organiser Duncan Russell, said: “ScotGrass 2013 will be the biggest yet and the AEA is very pleased to again have the support of the UK’s leading silage additive company, Ecosyl, recently acquired by Volac. We expect the working demonstrations of grass conservation machinery, products and services to feature several new developments highlighting the technological advances made over the last 3 years.”

Alongside the working demonstrations, which will include one on silage clamping, the event will feature leading advice covering all aspects of grass conservation and livestock issues as well as a full static exhibition.

Volac’s Sales and Marketing Manager, John Reynolds, said: “ScotGrass 2013 will give farmers and contractors the chance to see new technology at work in practical farm conditions, and we are please to be associated with this important event.”
