Buyers from across the UK are expected to travel to the Royal Welsh Showground on the first Monday in August to buy quality rams.
A shortage of real quality stock and an improved lamb trade has signalled more interest than for a number of years. Executive Director Jane Smith said flockmasters will be looking for good rams as the difficult winter and dreadful Spring means there are fewer early tups to choose from.

They will have the choice of sheep drawn from farms stretching from the South West of England to the North West as well as from Wales. The main terminal breeds will be available as well as Poll Dorset, Berrichon du Cher, Hampshire Down and Charmoise.
The sale starts at 10.30am Monday 5 August at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells
