Private £8000 Deal for Simmental Bull

The Sterling herd of Simmentals is delighted to announce the sale of up and coming young bull Sterling Delboy 12 to the Crudie herd of Hugh Brunton, Arbroath, in a private £8000 deal.

Delboy, one of the first sons of the herd's impressive stock sire Mendick Butch to be sold, comes with a strong pedigree, being out Sterling Trixie's Anika, a daughter of the multi award winning bull Sterling Viking 2.

Carrying a Terminal Production Index of 102 and a Self Replacing Index of 116, both well within the top 1% of the breed, Delboy combines an enviable pedigree with excellent performance, explains Boddington Estates' farm manager Joe Edwards.

"Delboy has impressed from early in his life and carries his father's excellent natural fleshing and squareness, coupled with the correctness and breed character of his maternal grandfather.

"Lightly shown in the early part of this summer Delboy picked up the reserve junior championship at Devon County Show in May and was widely admired by many breeders earlier in the year."

Commenting on his purchase Mr Brunton said he had been impressed with Delboy when he visited the Sterling herd in the spring and saw him as a young calf. "He was exactly what I was looking for in a herd sire, powerful, clean and with exceptional locomotion.

"His tremendous breed character coupled with excellent performance figures made him a natural fit for the Crudie herd."
