Forestry lecturer Jim Waterson MICFor said: “We are delighted that Matt has achieved at such a high level and for this to be recognised and rewarded with this award from UPM Tilhill. This extra link with the company is invaluable and helps ensure a real connection between our teaching, the forest and forest products industries and our students.”

Matthew received a specially carved wooden trophy in the shape of an acorn which was presented by UPM Tilhill Regional Manager Guy Warren along with a £250 cheque.

Guy Warren added:
“We’re delighted to be supporting Harper Adams and recognising the hard work of students taking the forestry and forest products module. It’s an excellent university which regularly feeds students into our graduate trainee programme.

We also regularly host student visits at some of our sites which helps us promote forestry and harvesting as a good career choice and allows students to learn more about what UPM Tilhill can offer as an employer.”

UPM Tilhill, established more than 60 years ago, is a national company operating from a network of offices throughout the UK.
