Amazone Pantera Invited Out to Play

Agrii recently held a sprayer demonstration day at Rumgally Farm, Cupar, Fife, courtesy of Mr G Harley and, for their invited audience, there was an impressive show put on with a line-up of around a dozen self-propelled sprayers in the field.

The day gave 40 or so sprayer operators the chance to touch and feel these machines, some of which they hadn’t had a chance to look over before, in the flesh and so gain a direct comparison between the various brands on the market. And all this with a more personal, one-to-one touch than is normally found at other sprayer demonstration days.

Courtesy of an invite from local Amazone dealer, G. Reekie Group Ltd, Amazone had the chance to put the Pantera 4001 through its paces and to show its mettle in the field. Those having a chance to sit and have a drive of the machine got a feel for the quietness of the Vista cab with its superb all-round vision, the smoothness and responsiveness of hydrostatic transmission, the clean, clear underbelly clearance and the excellent tractive power, and they were very impressed.

Gareth Jones, Territory Area Support Manager for Amazone Ltd in Scotland, was very satisfied with the response from those attending ‘The Pantera was spoken of very highly amongst those present, with a very positive feedback with regard to the thought that went into the design, as well as the level of operator comfort and convenience on offer’ commented Gareth.

The 4000 litre tank capacity, self-propelled was equipped on the day with the renowned 36m Super-L boom and DistanceControl that sets the ride height of the variable geometry boom automatically. The Amazone Pantera was also equipped, as always, with Comfort-Pack which enables the sprayer to be washed out automatically from the cab using the electronically-actuated suction valve and sequential clean out cycle via the AMATRON 3 in-cab terminal.

The little and often cleaning regime makes sure of the best possible dilution and rinsing utilising the 500 litre fresh water tank on board. The GPS-Switch automatic headland shut-off system completed the excellent level of sophistication that one would expect from a sprayer of this calibre and these finer points certainly didn’t go unnoticed by the discerning audience present at Rumgally.

All in all, the Amazone Pantera offers a great package, even in its standard specification and would seem now to be on one or two more people’s shopping lists.
