Hallington Angus Bull Sells in Private Deal
A half share in the January 2012-born Aberdeen-Angus bull Hallington Picasso M348 of Messrs Alan and Steven Lawson, Newcastle on Tyne, has been sold in a private five figure deal to Whittaker and Co Farms, Cornhill-on-Tweed, Northumberland, for use in their Haughton herd.
Picasso has been shown successfully this summer, culminating in a reserve male championship at Northumberland Show, the reserve native championship at Cumberland Show and a third place at the Royal Highland Show.

Hallington Picasso M348
He is by the proven sire Netherallan Peter Pershore E052 and is out of the Hallington Knight F123 daughter Hallington Princess J218, one of the best breeding lines in the herd.
As well as his exceptional pedigree, Picasso carries a strong set of performance data, including a Terminal Index of +47, a Self Replacing Index of +60 and a milk figure of +21.
Commenting on the sale Alan Lawson said:
“We’ve had many favourable
comments from breeders who have seen Picasso on the show circuit
and we’re delighted he’s been sold in to such a progressive herd
as Haughton and we’d like to wish Peter Whittaker and Fraser Cormack
the very best with him.”
Adding his thoughts, Fraser Cormack said:
“When we first saw Picasso
early this year we saw all the traits and characteristics that we value
so highly. Then when we later viewed him on farm and studied his performance
figures we knew he was the bull to take us to the next level. With the
females that we have assembled or bred ourselves we knew he was the
bull for us at Haughton Angus.”
