The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 83 prime cattle, 14 OTM cattle, 4774 prime hoggs, 39 spring lambs and 2139 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 24th April, 2008.

All Classes of Clean Cattle were dearer on the week with bullocks averaging 159.9p and heifers 147.9p. The hoggets were a much better show for quality and easily sold to a full ring of buyers. The export hoggs averaged 135.4p. The overall sale average was 132.7p.
