Commenting on this Cumbrian Farm, Andy Dyer for H&H Bowe says: “ We are delighted to offer this fine farm for sale, it has been very well maintained and improved since the present owners bought it and would make the ideal purchase for someone wanting to start up in farming or expand their existing farming enterprise. In addition it offers potential investment and development opportunities.”
The extensive farm buildings, used primarily in the past for dairy and stock rearing, include a new cattle handling facility erected in 2010. The traditional farm buildings are very well maintained and may be suitable for re-development for a number of alternative uses (subject to the normal planning constraints). The buildings included in the sale include a two-storey barn, workshop, stable and feed store, calf enclosure and calving box, covered collecting yards, cattle sheds, cubicle sheds, a covered silage pit and several other sheds, lean-to’s, feed areas and covered walk ways.
As a result of modernising renovations within the last four years the traditional Cumbrian farmhouse is in excellent condition. The farmhouse has a large kitchen with AGA, family room, sitting room and dining room. On the second storey a large family bathroom and separate shower room accompanies the bedrooms, two of which have en-suites. The grounds include outhouses for storage, flower beds, vegetable plots, patio areas and an extensive laid lawn.
Located just 15 minutes north of Carlisle The Knells farm is close to the village of Houghton and to Junction 44 off the M6.
