The Healthy Lambing Guide is a new information pack from Volac designed to help sheep farmers reduce losses and improve overall flock output this coming lambing season.
The first of the two part pack features Lambing Advice, a 14 page booklet offering comprehensive flock management and nutrition information from the final third of ewe pregnancy through to lamb weaning. Pages are also dedicated to housing and care of the new born lamb including essential colostrum management, together with details on the various rearing systems for surplus lambs.
The pack’s second part, Lambing Products summarises Volac’s portfolio including Lamlac milk replacer, Volostrum colostrum alternative, AS Gold electrolyte, the Ewe 2 warm milk feeder and the Automatic feeder.
“Sheep producers operating in the current strong market place have every incentive to minimise their flock’s neonatal lamb mortality by adopting good husbandry and management,” says Volac’s Sophie Gale. “The Healthy Lambing Guide provides a wealth of information to help producers through one of the busiest and most stressful times of the year, helping them to increase both the quantity and quality of lambs successfully reared to lift their flock margins.”
