The British Limousin Cattle Society (BLCS) has registered cattle since the breed was first imported from France in 1971. Membership of the Society is now over 2000 and calf registrations last year reached an all time high of over 13250.

The Limousin breed is now the UK's no.1 beef breed, after only 28 years in the country.

Confirming its carcase status, Limousin sired stock last year again won many of the countrys leading Primestock Show titles including the Scottish and Welsh Winter Fairs, the Ulster Beef and Lamb Fair and Royal Smithfield. The breed has now won the grand slam of national primestock shows five times in the last eight years.
