McConnel has just unveiled TwinCut, the world's first mainstream dual-rotor flailhead.

Featuring two high-powered spiral rotors, the McConnel TwinCut has been specially designed to tackle mature hedgerows in a single-pass – delivering both a heavy-duty cut and a fine finish in one operation.
Powered by two hydraulic motors, the flailhead’s unique double cutting action saves operators time, cuts fuel costs, and increases the amount of work that can be done in a day.
The first rotor is equipped with a heavy-duty T-flail which cuts in a downward direction, reducing the amount of debris thrown forward. The material is finely mulched and the bulk is retained within the hedgerow.
The second rotor is set 50mm lower, cuts in an upward direction and is equipped with a fine-cut McConnel Competition-flail. This combination is perfect for shaping the hedge and leaving behind a precise and attractive finish.
The unique design of the TwinCut also removes the need for a hood cover, ensuring a smoother flow of materials into the flailhead, and allowing operators to cut closer to obstacles and posts for greater productivity and precision.

The TwinCut flailhead is now available in 1.2 and 1.5 metre working widths and can be fitted to non-telescopic arms from the 70, 85, Mid-Mount, and Classic series.
