2012-08-31

With over 75 machines in the field, thousands of farming guests and the anticipation of the global premiere of some exciting new machinery additions, the Vision of the Future (VOF) event from Massey Ferguson was a spectacular landmark in the 2012 agricultural calendar.

“Massey Ferguson has always been a catalyst for new ideas and new energies,” explained Thierry Lhotte

Farmers converged on Beauvais in France from all over Europe to this important new farming event, where Massey Ferguson aimed to share its vision of the future and the creation of better and more profitable farming businesses.

“Massey Ferguson has always been a catalyst for new ideas and new energies,” explained Thierry Lhotte, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Massey Ferguson in Europe, Africa and Middle East. “With VOF, we created an agenda to inspire, stimulate and entertain – all set in an informal environment where our farming guests could meet and discuss their businesses with professionals who have expertise in all areas of agriculture.”

“We also designed VOF to act as a sounding board to learn from our farming colleagues how they view the future of their businesses so that we can design and develop the technology and services they need. In addition, we wanted to show farmers who may not know Massey Ferguson very well who we are and what we do.”

The event took place over a two-week period at the Institut Polytechnique LaSalle of Beauvais. This impressive complex is a flagship venue for modern agriculture focused on earth, life and environmental sciences.

Alongside the feast of machinery was a special conference programme where guests heard about the latest insights into grain forward selling, CAP reform, soil compaction and crop genetics.

Demonstrations in the field showed how adopting best practice and using the latest technology can ensure a successful and profitable future in agriculture. A wide selection of tractors was also on-hand for individual test drives. And to top it all, visitors got he chance to see all that is on offer from Massey Ferguson partners, AGCO Finance, AGCO Parts, AGCO Power, AGCO Service, AGCO Technology, Fella and GSI, together with displays and presentations from leading pan-European farm input suppliers.
