Animalcare Group Delivers Strong Financial Performance

Animal pharmaceuticals supplier, Animalcare Group, has seen revenue and profits increase for the six months to 31 December, 2009.

Animalcare Group is also a supplier of other premium products and services to the veterinary industry, and the manufacturer and supplier of premium quality livestock products to agricultural retailers.

The company’s interim results show a 15% increase in group revenue to £8.93m, compared with £7.76m in 2008. And earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew by 26% to 1.21m (2008 - £0.82m). Group adjusted operating profit rose by 62%, to reach £0.98m (2008 £0.6m).

Company chairman, James Lambert admitted that the market for key livestock products was “challenging”, but said he expected trade to improve during the second half of the year.

“I am pleased to report a strong growth in revenue, especially in our companion animal business, said Mr Lambert. “We are confident that our licensed veterinary medicines will continue to deliver revenue and profit growth, in line with expectations.”

Animalcare Limited markets and sells a range of licensed veterinary pharmaceuticals, animal identification microchips and other veterinary supplies to wholesalers for onward distribution to veterinary surgeons in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
