Is There Life After CAP Reform?

A PROGRAMME of events designed to help livestock farmers in the South West of England keep their businesses profitable after CAP reform is being held during February.

Four farm walks followed by presentations by experts have been organised by the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) in conjunction with South West of England Land Based Colleges (SWELBC).

The events, funded by Defra Rural Development Service, all start at 10.00am and are:

  • Wednesday February 15 at Castle Hill Farm, Down Ampney, Cirencester with presentations from MLC Senior Economist Duncan Sinclair, MLC Signet Beef Breeding Specialist Ian Pritchard and Nutritionist Lachie Maclachlan;
  • Thursday February 16 at Maiden Castle Farm, Dorchester with presentations from Duncan Sinclair and Nutritionist Nigel Mapstone;
  • Wednesday February 22 at Pops Farm, Whitnell Lane, Whitnell, Fiddington, Somerset with presentations from MLC Head of Beef and Sheep Science Duncan Pullar and Nutritionists Richard Colley and Ian Pickles;
  • Thursday February 23 at Fortescue Farm, Thorverton, Exeter with presentations from Jilly Greed of Fortescue Farm, Professor of Food Animal Science at Bristol University Jeff Wood and Duncan Pullar.
