Volac International secures British Denkavit's assets
16/09/05

Volac

Britain's leading calf nutrition and feeding systems company, Volac International has purchased assets from Poole based British Denkavit, which went in to administration earlier this month following the withdrawal of its licence from Denkavit International.

The assets include Calf Pride Systems, featuring all the ad lib calf and lamb feeders currently on hire and in use on farm. In addition, an agreement has been reached with the feeders' supplier, German based Förster Technik to market its Stand Alone range of computerised feeding equipment.

Two key members from British Denkavit's team, Ian Carter and Will Sinclair have joined Volac International to manage Calf Pride Systems and provide back up for the distributor network. Calf Pride Systems will be supported by milk replacer manufactured by Volac International with milk supplied solely from British farms.

Volac International will continue to support its existing range of ad lib and computerised feeding equipment sourced from Urban and Fullwood.

“This arrangement has provided Volac International with an opportunity to strengthen its position in Britain as leader in the specialist areas of animal nutrition, feed ingredients and feeding systems,” says Volac International's David Neville. “The arrangement will also enable us to offer a wider range of products designed to help all livestock farmers make cost savings and further improve their unit's efficiency and sustainability.”

Calf Pride Systems will feature at the Dairy Event on Volac International's stand 232 in Exhibition Hall 2.
