The Junior and Overall male champion Hillhead Upper consigned by Northern Ireland breeders Hillhead Blondes from the Rodgers family at Co. Down secured the days leading price of 4,800gns at the Blonde Society March show and sale.

This much admired young bull, was the first of three entries from Hillhead Blondes that was sired by their new French stock bull Palace. Upper, a July 2003 born bull whose mother Glassdrummond Lucy is a daughter of Ashtonlodge Aaron, was successfully bought by Mr Barry Allsop to join his Glenbarry herd at Melton Mowbray.

The second Palace sired entry from Hillhead Blondes was Hillhead Umpire who sold for the next leading price of 3,600gns.  Born April 2003, he was from a homebred mother by Romer Major and sold to join the Bridge herd for Mr CW Shenton based at Handforth in Cheshire.

Hillhead Blondes third Palace bred bull was Hillhead Umbojumbo who had won the Senior Male Championships earlier in the day.  He already has a show record to his credit when he won Male and Reserve Overall Champion at RUAS 2004.  Out of another Romer Major bred mother, he was knocked down for 3,500gns to W & M Linton & Son for their Brackenhill herd at Carluke, Lanarkshire.
