Amazone at Grassland UK
2012-04-30

With the maize drilling season in full swing, and fresh in everyone’s mind, now is the ideal time to come and speak to the experts about precision seeding.

The AD-P Special power/harrow drill combination offers perfect seed placement and simple set up.

Amazone AD-P Special power/harrow drill

Amazone have just enjoyed their Silver Jubilee year in maize drilling and those twenty-five years of experience certainly show when you look at their range of single seeders. The conventional ED, available in 4, 6 and 8 row versions, with or without under-root fertilising, offer easy set-up and low maintenance drilling at speeds up to around 9 km/h without any loss in what is an impeccable singling performance with over 99% of the seeds drilled as singles. With just 5 stripper finger positions and a choice of two cell wheels, depending on 1000 grain weight, the ED is quick to get going and flexible in what it drills – sunflowers, rape, beans, sugar beet, stubble turnips, forage beet, it takes it all in its stride.

If it is more output that you are looking for, then come and talk to us about the EDX range of high-speed seeders. With their large, centralised hoppers for both fertiliser and seed, these high capacity machines can be set up for application rate from the tractor seat and, during operation, by viewing the bar graph displayed on the AMATRON+ controller in the cab, the stripper system can be adjusted on the move for perfect singling all the time and with any variety. Operating at speeds of up to 15 km/h, the EDX offers work rates around 50% higher than an ED, which means nearly double the output of a normal drill. And all this is done with a minimum of fuss and set-up. The EDX is capable of drilling into stubble, in min-till or after the plough and so fits all systems and all cropping, again with particular emphasis on rape and stubble turnips.

Amazone will also take the opportunity to exhibit a further selection from their extensive product range with power harrow/drill combinations, sprayers and spreaders also on the stand. Visit them in the static stand area and discuss your maize drilling requirements for next season with Amazone, the harvest to harvest specialists; there might even be a cup of tea on offer as well!

Grassland UK, the country’s major national grassland event makes a popular return to the farmland adjoining the Bath & West Showground on Thursday 10 May 2012.
