John Dinsdale, of Rainhill Farm, Barnoldswick, who has been a familiar face for many years at Skipton Auction Mart calf sales, secured an inaugural championship success at the July show of rearing calves.

British Blue breeders enjoyed a bumper days trading at the Border British Blue Club’s Twentieth Annual Spring Show & Sale at Carlisle on Saturday 15 May. Top call of the day was 16,000gns and a further six bulls broke the five figure barrier.

The Border British Blue Club staged their Eleventh annual open calf show on Thursday 18th February at Borderway Mart, Carlisle when nearly all of the 42 catalogued entries were forward for judging.

Irish Belgian Blue Cattle Society

Belgian Blues were first imported into Ireland in 1979. The extraordinary success of Belgian Blue Sires in crossing in Ireland is primarily due to their ability to produce more quality meat than any other breed in both dairy and suckling herds.

Czech Belgian Blue

Belgian Blue heifers imported in 1994 to the Animal Research Institute established the first herd in the Czech Republic. Belgian Blue bulls are used especially for crossing with dairy cattle, but very often also as a terminal bull for other beef breeds.

Canadian Belgian Blue Association

The first Belgian Blues were imported to Canada from Europe in the mid 1970's. The Canadian Belgian Blue Association (CBB) was Incorporated under the Live Stock Pedigree Act on October 1, 1986.
