Crofters Commission

Crofting is a prominent feature of rural parts of the Highlands & Islands, its rich history balanced by its promising future. It is about land use, people and the retention of a unique social, cultural and agricultural heritage.

NFU Scotland

NFU Scotland, formed in 1913, is Scotland’s lead agricultural organisation representing 10,000 farmers, crofters and growers the length and breadth of the country. NFU Scotland works alongside its sister organisations in England, Wales and Ulster as well as other rural organisations to promote and protect the interests of Scottish agriculture.

Scottish Crofting Foundation

The SCF is a charitable company and the only non-government organisation representing crofting. Working to develop, promote and encourage crofting. Representing and safeguarding the interests of crofters, their families and communities, their cultural heritage and their legislative rights.

Young Farmers Clubs Of Ulster

There are 76 Clubs throughout Northern Ireland linked to 300 South of the border plus 101 in Scotland and 850 in England and Wales.

United Dairy Farmers Limited

The largest farmer-owned co-operative society in Northern Ireland. In 1997/98 United bought 924 million litres of milk from its 3,800 members, and sold the milk through a computerised auction to customers, mainly in Northern Ireland.
