The 2012 edition of Harrison & Hetherington’s Black & White Sale held at Borderway, Carlisle will be one of the most anticipated events in the Holstein calendar. This year’s sale takes place on Saturday December 1st and once again features “la crème de la crème” of elite dairy genetics.

The sale totals 90 lots and includes some of the best milking cows & heifers ever sold during this sales series, including young heifers ready to flush, heifers from the world’s most prolific breeding cows, first choice heifers and embryos.

Lot 1 comes from the famous Marie family. Denmire Goldwyn Marie 87 recently classified Excellent with an Excellent 91 mammary and now completes the fifth generation of cows classified Excellent. The Marie family is now International renowned with many chart topping Sires of sons being used throughout the world and the sale will offer other great investment opportunities from this wonderful cow family.
This is the very first time the Black & White sale has featured a Milking Shorthorn. Crossing the Irish Sea from Downpatrick will be Sunrise Reflection Marcia. Her dam was first heifer in milk at Balmoral this spring and is one the best young cows in the UK. . Another young cow in the sale comes from Lot 25 presenting Lynholme Gold Wishes who was the Northern Dairy Expo Junior Champion for 2012.
