The NSA Wales and Border Ram Sales has signed up Pfizer Animal Health as a sponsor of the two autumn ram sales, alongside Symtag, Ketchum, and the Farmers Guardian.
The main ram sale, to be held this year at the Royal Welsh Showground on Monday 24 September, is traditionally Europe’s biggest. It attracts buyers from all over the UK and beyond, attracted by its quality hallmark.
Secretary Jane Smith said: "The NSA Wales and Border Ram Sales is delighted to have Pfizer Animal Health on board. The involvement of this leading animal health solutions company underlines our commitment to quality."
According to Pfizer Product Manager Steve Mead, supporting the ram sales is a good opportunity to give something back to farmers who use the company’s products. In particular, he says appropriate anti-parasite treatment of rams before sale is critical to ensure the long term excellent reputation of these events.
Advice about worming, scab control, anthelmintic resistance in sheep worms and the commercial benefits of introducing a management disease programme will be freely available from the Pfizer stand at both sales.
The NSA Wales and Border Ram Sales are held twice a year and the early sale will take place on Monday 6th August, with entries closing on 4th July. Entries of the main sale, on Monday 24th September close 8th August.
