This prestigious all Ireland dairy event and livestock show is supported by Alltech Ireland in association with the Irish Holstein Friesian Association.

The date has been moved back to Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th so as to facilitate commercial livestock farmers and trade exhibitors. Emerald Expo 2012 will have 20 classes, six Championships and a prize fund of €25K -one of the biggest for any EU livestock event.

It will also include an international dairy conference, two farm visits, a dairy to beef village, livestock exhibitions, a machinery display, family entertainment, a career pavilion, cookery demos, etc.

Emerald Expo 2012 has the valued support of Bord Bia, Dept. of Agriculture & Food, IFA, Teagasc and major sponsors.

Donald Dubois was judging the Holstein classes at the UK Dairy Expo All-Breeds event on 2/3 March 2012 at Carlisle. He was appointed an official Holstein Canada judge in 1997 and has officiated at major shows in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and the Atlantic Provinces as well as judging at Expomig in Brazil. One of his recent assignments was at the 2011 Quebec Spring Show.

He has 15 years experience as a judge at the major Holstein shows in Quebec, namely Expo Québec, Grand prix de la Génétique, and the QIHS Red & White Show. In November 2010, he officiated for the second time at the Canadian Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, judging the Red & White Holstein Show.

In 2009, he had also judged Ayrshire animals there. Other shows he judged include the Atlantic Championship, the Ontario Discovery Spring, and the Ontario Summer, and various shows in the Dominican Republic, Belgium, Brazil and Portugal.

Now a territory manager in the Centre du Québec region for Alta Genetics, Mr. Dubois also worked as an animal fitter for 15 years. He is also co-owner of show animals, including many recipients of All-American, All-Canadian and Tout-Québec titles and nominations, such as Blondin Lyster Beauty, Lacoulée Justine Goldwyn, Tri-Koebel Aspen Jolly, and Humqui Irma Goldwyn.

More recently, he co-raised Liberty PGA Damion Lazzie, All-American 2009, as well as Belfontaine Drake Starlette, first Intermediate Calf at the 2010 Holstein Québec Spring Show.
