The bull is Savage-Leigh Lucius, whose remarkable 3.26 score for Type Merit reflects a linear type profile which will appeal to a broad cross-section of dairy farmers. Particularly impressive udder traits (udder composite 3.02) combine with great legs and feet (2.13) and body traits which are not extreme in any way – neither too tall or angular, nor too coarse, and with close-to-average stature. Production is also good in Lucius daughters (his PTA milk is 468kg), yet he also brings lifespan improvement and cell count reductions.
