Bullsemen’s Strong April Proofs Performance Built On Reliability
03/04/08

Bullsemen.com is now marketing 10 of the top 30 bulls ranked by PLI - now including Mtoto son Mascol at number 2 - and managing director Nick Kirby is keen to emphasise overall reliability above all else.

Gibor, one of the highest climbers in the April 2008 proof run, is available from Bullsemen.com as sexed semen.

Excellent figures for longevity and fertility are the common features in the high ranking bulls spearheading the company’s latest successful proof run, with Gibor and Laudan highlighted as the biggest upward movers in the April figures.

“We’ve seen significant increases in both £PLI and Type Merit in the figures from a number of bulls all with second crop daughters,” he points out. “Gibor and Laudan are good examples, and as their proofs are based on such high numbers of daughters their positive Fertility Indices are so much more meaningful. These bulls also have excellent Lifespan and SCC figures, showing that they are producing cows that will last and function effectively in the modern herd environment.”

Another big mover in the £PLI table is the Tidy Brook Steven son Stylist, whilst a number have also made a significant impact in the Type Merit table. Canyon Breeze Allen son, Alliance, is now up to +3.0 UK Type Merit, along with Jocko Besne son Jackpot and Bojer son Vachim (159 and 166 £PLI respectively). Jenny Lou Marshall Toystory remains above 2.5 for Type Merit (£131 PLI), whilst Jesfa is another high type bull that meets Bullsemen.com’s “Minimum Standards” criteria with a Type Merit of + 2.99 and a £PLI of 143.
