Tailored Fertilisers from Bunn at Agriscot

Farmers can save a substantial amount of time and money by using innovative and personalised fertiliser grades manufactured by Bunn Fertiliser Limited.

At this year’s AgriScot, Bunn will be showcasing both its quality blend range and an efficient nitrogen fertiliser independently proven to save money.

Visitors to the Bunn stand will see the impact on the fertiliser of wax coating the nutrients, using high quality raw materials and double screening to remove both small and large particles.
Rather than a generic ‘one size fits all’ range of NPKs, Bunn’s Montrose terminal has the flexibility to produce fertilisers based on analyses specific for individual soils and crops.

“As margins continue to be squeezed across the industry, farmers need to maximise their fertiliser usage,” explained Scotland Wholesale Manager, Graeme Logan.

“Based on specific soil tests, we work with a network of national and regional distributors to incorporate their knowledge of the farm along with our fertiliser expertise built up over many years, to produce unique blends offering farmers the right mix of minerals down to individual field need.”

Since re-branding as Bunn Fertiliser at the beginning of 2013, the Montrose terminal has improved its blending ability by implementing best practice from across the other UK terminals. And the care and attention given to delivering to Scotland’s farmers the best quality product goes beyond the manufacturing process.

“Bunn wax coats all its blends so that farmers can be confident that when they come to use the fertiliser it will still be in prime condition,” said Bunn Northern Commercial Leader, Ian Moseley.

“The fertiliser is packed in high specification bags, and is stored and loaded on to wagons under cover, minimising the risk of the product arriving on the farm having been exposed to the Scottish elements.”

Visitors will also have the chance to understand both financial and practical benefits of using Bunn’s Koch Advanced Nitrogen® fertiliser. A recent independent study by agricultural business consultants, Brown & Co, concluded that financial savings of up to £6,000 per annum could be possible through using this innovative product, depending on farm size.

Delivering yield responses comparable to Ammonium Nitrate, Koch Advanced Nitrogen® fertiliser is proven in Scottish conditions and has the added advantage of time savings when spreading and reduced storage and transport requirements.

Visit stand 36 in the Highland Hall at AgriScot to hear from the manufacturer the benefits of using Bunn’s product range, and to find out how you can purchase its blended fertiliser through a network of national and regional suppliers across Scotland.
