The weekend will showcase hundreds of tractors, cars, lorries, stationary engines and motorcycles and includes the ‘March of the Tractors’ – a parade of tractors from Newby Hall to Ripon’s historic market square (on 7 June, 5pm-6pm).

Exhibits include the world’s oldest tractor - the Ivel - dating from 1903 and a vintage 1922 Packard car which was used for the mail run from Adelaide to Breckon Hill in Australia but is now restored to its former glory.

Richard Sturdy, chairman of the YVA, said: “We’re confident that the success of last year’s Tractor Fest has attracted a record number of exhibitors – bookings are up by a third which is great news for visitors to this year’s show.”

In another win for the YVA, leading publishers Dorling Kindersley will be at the show to capture photographs for a planned children’s book about tractors.

This year’s featured tractor is any Single Cylinder type while the stationary engine to be showcased is the ever popular Lister. There will also be a world record attempt to bring together the largest gathering of Mogul Tractors as well as an exhibition of Ford cars through the ages – from the classics to the vintage Model T.

Tractor Fest 2014 will also feature vintage tractor pulling, free tractor and trailer rides, interactive exhibits, working machinery, food outlets and trade stands.

Tractor Fest 2014 takes place 7-8 June at Newby Hall & Gardens, Ripon, North Yorkshire, 10am-5pm - £9.50 adults, £8.50 seniors, £7.50 children (includes entry to the garden and adventure garden).
