Dairy Farm Chooses Weidemann’s Newest Loader

One of the very first Weidemann 4270 CX100T telescopic wheeled loaders in the UK has recently been delivered to a dairy farm near Belper in Derbyshire by recently appointed local dealer Hallmark Tractors of Ashbourne.

The machine is now being used seven days per week at White House Farm for a wide variety of tasks from handling large straw bales and cleaning passageways to feeding duties and even moving calves in a home-built cage attachment.

“We’re over the moon with it” says enthusiastic owner Peter Wood who, together with his son Adam and one employee, look after a herd of 150 dairy cows and 120 followers. “Its stability is amazing”, continues Mr. Wood, “and the visibility from the cab compared with the pivot steer telehandlers we’ve used on the farm for the last 25 years is really impressive and makes negotiating difficult access areas a breeze.”

Besides its outstanding all-round performance, the farm chose the Weidemann loader for its robust build quality, hydrostatic drive and superb access for servicing and maintenance thanks to its tilting cab feature. Mr. Wood is also particularly impressed with its ability to climb and manoeuvre on silage. “It simply never gets stuck and is able to handle 400 tonne of grass in just a couple of days.”

The 4270 is now the largest machine in Weidemann’s extensive range of articulated wheeled loaders, weighing in at 7.2 tonne, and is powered by a fuel-efficient Perkins 4-cylinder diesel engine developing 74.5 kW @ 2200 rpm.

The machine features a heavy duty chassis, double steering rams and an impressive hydraulic oil flow of 150 l/min. In addition, the 4270 is equipped as standard with both an air suspension seat and air conditioning for maximum operator comfort.
