Ruukki Pural Farm Prolongs Life of Agricultural Buildings

Ruukki is to launch a new polyurethane-based Ruukki Pural farm colour-coated steel formulated especially for agricultural buildings, where resistance to corrosion and chemicals is required.

Suitable for demanding conditions, Pural farm coating is more than 50% thicker and has better wear resistance than conventional polyester coatings traditionally used in agricultural buildings.

“A thick coating results in maximum useful life for agricultural buildings. Pural farm colour-coated steel cuts maintenance needs and costs incurred by the end user. The coating has good moisture resistance and is easy to clean,” says Thomas Hörnfeldt, Senior Vice President, Special Steels & International Sales at Ruukki.

Pural farm colour-coated steel sheets are ideal for the walls, ceilings and roofs of agricultural buildings such as cowsheds, henhouses, piggeries, dairies and storage facilities. Pural farm is an excellent coating for the steel sheets used in the sandwich panels of insulated buildings. A double-sided coating is available for profiles used in un-insulated buildings.

Ruukki specialises in steel and steel construction. They provide customers with energy-efficient steel solutions for better living, working and moving. They have around 9,000 employees and an extensive distribution and dealer network across some 30 countries including the Nordic countries, Russia and elsewhere in Europe and the emerging markets, such as India, China and South America. Net sales in 2012 totalled €2.8 billion. The company's share is quoted on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki (Rautaruukki Oyj: RTRKS).
