An even larger show of 10,584 prime hoggets were forward again this week to a busy ring of buyers, which is attracting a far better quality of hogg.  Although today many more grass fed

Blackface and Mule lambs were forward along with a large number of lightweight hoggs, thus resulting in averages being slightly down on the week.  The best quality hoggs in any weight range continued to demand premium prices and are always keenly sought after regardless of the number of sheep on show.

The whole sale averaged 205.5p per kilo with a top per kilo of 330p for Beltex from Messrs Ritson, Swaites and to £127.80 per head for Texels from Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh.
