World Wide Sires UK has expanded its sales team into Cornwall, where Lisa Hopwood takes on the role of breeding consultant.
Lisa builds on her lifelong experience in the dairy farming industry during which she has developed a deep understanding and appreciation of dairy genetics.
Having returned to the UK in 2011 from over a decade in North America where she worked both as a herd manager and ran her own relief milking business, Lisa resumed work in her native South Wales before moving on to Cornwall in 2012.
Having also worked for dairy farms and relief milking businesses in the UK and New Zealand, she has developed a keen understanding of the needs of commercial producers for long-living, hard-working, functional dairy cows, while always retaining her passion for pedigree bloodlines.
Backed up by a National Diploma in Agriculture from Bicton College in Devon - where she was also top student - and a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture from Seale-Hayne University, Lisa comes with all the credentials to advise farmers in the south west on the best bloodlines for their herds.
Commenting on her appointment, she says: “I’ve been passionate about breeding cows for as long as I can remember so am thrilled to have taken on a role in which I can use this knowledge to help farmers in Cornwall in their future breeding choices. World Wide Sires has a wide range of genetics to suit a variety of situations and I look forward to working with Cornish farmers to find them the best possible package to meet their own farming objectives.”
