A Countryman’s Ball is being organised by Eden Rivers Trust and Newton Rigg College to bring together the rural community in the Eden Valley.
It will be an evening of good food and entertainment, and an opportunity for everyone to meet up with friends, old and new. This follows the similar successful event held by the Trust last year where over 350 people had a fantastic evening.
The event will take place at Newton Rigg College, Penrith on Saturday 16 June 2012. It will raise money for Eden House Children’s Hospice in Carlisle and the Newton Rigg Bursary Scheme.
The Countryman’s Ball will include a family ceilidh with a local Ceilidh band. This will be followed by live music from local band the ‘Usual Suspects’ plus special guests. There will also be a big country supper and real ales available from a well stocked bar and various fun and games for all ages.
Simon Johnson, Trust Director, said, “We hope this will be a fantastic event for the local area and we would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone to come along and enjoy themselves. There will be excellent entertainment, food and company for people of all ages, and we hope to raise money for good causes along the way.”
Tickets include food and cost £10 for adults, £5 for under 12’s and under 5’s are free. They are available from Eden Rivers Trust – phone 01768 866788 or 07711794105. Tickets will also be available online at gowild.edenriverstrust.org.uk. The gates open at 6.00 and the entertainment will continue until late.
