Sale of Working Collies at the Hammerlands Centre

Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart held their Spring Sale of 78 working collies and pups at The Hammerlands Centre, Moffat on Saturday 10th March 2012.

A large attendance of buyers from throughout the UK were present, and the Cheviot ewe hoggs on the field proved to be very difficult to handle with quality dogs in short supply.

‘Lass’ a 22 month Bare Skinned Bitch shown by John MaClachan, Spean Bridge met the days top price of 3100gns selling to local handler J Bunting.

Next Best from Ivan Stephenson, Broughshane at 2800gns for ‘Meg’ a 3 Year Old Bitch to M/S Bearnes, Girvan.

T McPhee, Reiss sold ‘Flash’ 2 Year Old Tricolor Dog at 2300gns to M/S Helliwell, Lancs.

Glen Torrens, Castle Derg sold his 13 Month Old Tricolor Bitch ‘Del’ at 2100gns to M/S Davidson, Woolar.

W Gallagher, Barvin then sold ‘Spy’ a 13 Month Old Bitch at 2000gns to a Welsh Buyer.

Broken registered dogs sold to £3255 averaging £1903

Part-broken dogs sold to £1260 averaging £735

Pups sold to £546 averaging £229
