EBLEX’s presence at this year’s SIA show in Paris attracted the interest of French political heavyweights.
Minister of Agriculture Bruno Le Maire visited the organisation’s stand and spent around 15 minutes asking questions to the French breeders who own Angus and Hereford cattle.
Minister of Agriculture Bruno Le Maire visited the organisation’s stand and spent around 15 minutes asking questions to the French breeders who own Angus and Hereford cattle. The stand was also visited by Socialist French presidential candidate François Hollande.
Rémi Fourrier, EBLEX export manager France, said: “Clearly, the strong position of the EBLEX stand is now recognised by officials drawing the itinerary of French politicians. It generated many positive comments, especially about the quality of the livestock presented and the quality of the beef sampled in the hospitality area.”
This year EBLEX showed two beef breeds ‘families’ with one bull, one cow and one calf of each of the traditional Angus and Hereford breeds. Four excellent young Texel rams purchased by top French Texel breeders also featured at the event, while a refrigerated cabinet highlighted beef and lamb retail packs and cuts for food service.
Mr Fourrier added: “SIA has again proved to be a valuable and successful event for EBLEX, providing us with the platform to meet trade, retail and food service contacts, as well as professional organisations and opinion formers.”
