Chance to Win Hottest Holstein Ticket in Town at UK Dairy Expo
2012-02-28

Holstein enthusiasts with a good eye for stock and their sights on a hot prize should make their way to the World Wide Sires UK stand at the new UK Dairy Expo at the end of this week (2-3 March). Here they will get their first opportunity of taking part in the WWSUK judging competition with the chance to win a trip to one of the most keenly contested dairy shows in Europe.

The competition is run on an annual basis by WWSUK and will kick off this year at the Carlisle-based Expo; move around the country to all the major events and close at the Royal Ulster Winter Fair at the end of the year. This gives everyone the chance to take part, wherever they’re based in the UK.

The master judge will be Brian Miller of the renowned Moorshard herd in Somerset and the daughters to be placed are by some of the leading international bulls including Million, Sanchez, Scooby-Duu, Glen, Zenith, Autopilot, Design and Durham Ross.

The winning entrant will be taken to the Swiss Dairy Expo as part of a sight-seeing tour where they can expect to see some of the best dairy cattle in Europe. Breeds on show will include Jersey, Brown Swiss, Montbeliarde, Fleckvieh and Simmental alongside as strong exhibition of Holsteins.

“If anyone has any trouble locating our stand at the UK Dairy Expo they only need look out for the Holstein cattle in the AI company area,” says Henry Sanderson from WWSUK.

“We expect to be the only breeding company bringing cattle on to our stand and we’re very excited to have some of the earliest milking daughters of two of our leading bulls.

“From the Davidson family’s Errolston herd in Dumfriesshire there will be daughters of Go-Farm Allen Scooby Duu and from the Butterfield family’s Ingleview herd and the Moorhouse family’s Aireburn herd in Lancashire and Yorkshire respectively there will be daughters of Gen-Mark Stmatic Sanchez.”
