A Super Star is by the herd’s senior stock bull Banwy T-Rex, who was purchased in Perth in November 2007 for 8500gns and stood breed champion at Balmoral in 2009 and took the Irish Simmental of the Year title in both 2009 and 2010.

He is out of Milton Seabank, a former show heifer going back to the legendary Seabank Tiffany and Star Polly and by Raceview King and sold to Stuart Stronach for his Islavale herd, Banffshire.

He sold with a suckler beef value of €192 and is five-star rated for four other traits. Commenting on the sale Mr Behan said: “A Super Star is without doubt the best T-Rex son to be born in the herd to date. He has exceptional power, muscle and presence combined with his sire’s placid nature.”
