Longtown Primestock Sale

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 57 prime cattle, 3 young bulls, 63 over thirty month cattle, 4,504 prime hoggs and 5,249 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 17th February, 2011.

Prime hoggs were a similar show again and trade was sharper with good quality Texel and Beltex lambs very dear and selling between 220p and 240p/kg. The overall average was 194p a rise of 8p on the week. Several pens of heavy hoggs made over £100.
